GIVE & GROW GOOD 2020 CAMPAIGN

by The FruitGuys Community Fund

Our goal is to raise $5,000 by December 31st from individual donors to help an additional 2 small farms grow more good food and give back to the environment and their communities. All donations are tax-deductible and 100% goes directly to farmers.

What We Do:
The FruitGuys Community Fund provides small grants (up to $5,000) to small farms and agricultural nonprofits for sustainability projects that have large positive impacts on the environment, local food systems, and farm diversity. Since 2012, we've awarded more that $275,000 to 70 small sustainable farms. With your help, we'll be able to increase our impact on small farms. By growing their long-term success, you can help build a stronger, local food system that equally values the health of the land, your community, and your family.

Why We Need Support:
Every year we receive more requests than we can fulfill. In 2019, we funded 15 farms for a total of $53,472 but more that 300 farmers applied. There's such a need to help. That's why we want to extend our reach. Our goal is to raise an additional $5,000 allowing us to support 2-3 more farms.

Your Impact:
Independent farmers are masters at stretching budgets, applying precious dollars to projects that contribute to food sustainability and economic stability. Your donation has a huge impact.

A recent $2,900 grant helped Kamal Bell, owner of Sankofa Farms, increase production of their honeybees and purchase a caterpillar tunnel to extend their harvest season. A 2-acre farm in Cedar Grove, North Carolina, that produces vegetables and eggs and runs a program for youth of color focusing on regenerative agriculture, discipline, and communal responsibility.

Your support can make more stories like Kamal's possible.

Before granting money to a farm, The FruitGuys Community Fund reviews each grant request carefully. 100% of your donation goes to a farm, not consultants or administrative fees. We fund projects that address water conservation, natural pest control, energy efficiency, soil health or pollination. Feel good that your money directly supports healthy and sustainable local food production.

*Your donation is tax-deductible. Donors will receive a donation receipt via email.
